Dr. Mike Belding

Originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, Dr. Mike Belding moved to Calgary in 2010, where he has practiced as a Calgary chiropractor ever since. He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2010 as a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine. In addition to his chiropractic degree, he also completed a Clinical Acupuncture program, which allows him to provide acupuncture treatment alongside his chiropractic services.

Over the years, Dr. Belding has treated a wide range of conditions, including low back pain, headaches, neck pain, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, and plantar fasciitis. Whether a patient is dealing with a nagging injury that won’t go away, chronic pain that’s built up over years, or a new issue from sport or daily life, he takes the time to understand what’s actually going on before deciding on a treatment plan — every patient’s situation is a little different, and their care should reflect that.

As a Calgary chiropractor, Dr. Belding believes in a research-based approach that combines multiple treatment techniques rather than relying on any single method. He has gained certification in Active Release Techniques, a hands-on method that targets soft tissue restrictions and scar tissue to restore normal movement, as well as Graston Technique, which uses specialized instruments to break down adhesions and improve tissue mobility. He has also familiarized himself with the latest research in Shockwave Therapy, which uses focused sound waves to stimulate healing in stubborn injuries like plantar fasciitis and chronic tendon issues that haven’t responded to other treatments. Rounding out his toolkit, he uses Class IV laser therapy, which reduces inflammation and speeds up tissue repair, often pairing it with manual techniques for a more complete recovery.

Dr. Belding also puts a strong emphasis on educating his patients: understanding why an injury happened and what to do about it going forward is just as important as the hands-on treatment itself. His goal isn’t just to get someone out of pain in the short term, but to help patients in Calgary build the habits and strength needed to stay active and pain-free long term.

Outside the clinic, Mike enjoys watching and playing sports, reading, and watching movies. He also stays active himself, spending time running and staying involved in the local sports community whenever he can.
