Renee Toxopeus

Physiotherapist, BKin., MScPT

Originally from Vancouver, BC, Renee moved to Alberta and completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2018. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia Okanagan.

Since graduating, Renee has pursued additional education in both orthopedic and vestibular rehabilitation. Her orthopedic training includes Level 2 Upper Extremity Manual Therapy through the Orthopedic Division, as well as Functional Dry Needling. She has also completed additional education that allows her to order diagnostic imaging when clinically indicated.

Renee has developed a special interest in vestibular rehabilitation and concussion management. Most notably, she completed the Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency-Based Course through Duke University in Atlanta. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of vestibular disorders, including BPPV, vestibular neuritis, vestibular migraine, Mal de Débarquement Syndrome, and balance impairments.

Renee welcomes patients of all ages and conditions and is a strong believer in individualizing her treatment plans to help her patients attain their goals. She enjoys working with patients experiencing vestibular and concussion-related symptoms, while also treating a variety of orthopedic conditions. Her goal is to help each patient better understand their condition and feel confident returning to the activities that are important to them.

Outside the clinic, Renee loves to keep active. Whether she is out for a run, playing volleyball, or lifting weights, she always finds ways to keep moving.
